Tail of the Dragon - September 25th 2011

This was my first time to the Tail of the Dragon, and it was fun!. I met a guy from the FZ6-Forum named Zaeem near the Mall of Georgia at about 8 am Sunday morning. We took I-985 up to Gainsville, then rode up US 129 to theTail of the Dragon. Here are some pictures I took from a scenic lookout near the top of the dragon. The first 2 are of Calderwood Lake, you can see the top of the Calderwood hydroelectric dam in the first pic.

When we rode back down we stopped at the Tail of the Dragon inn. Here are some pics of that, and the Tree of Shame. It's a tree with a bunch of motorcycle parts hung around it from people who have had accidents on the Tail of the Dragon
